Abstract: Doxology is an important part of the apostolic letters, but there is a lack of attention to it, so that doxology is only understood as the author's praise, active acknowledgment, and theological convictions. By paying attention to the basic structure and explanatory elements, this article aims to analyze the doxology in 1 Peter. This study used a qualitative research method, with a content analysis approach. Through this study, the doxology in 1 Peter not only understood just as an expression of praise, active acknowledgment, and the author's theological convictions, but as a strategic argument to express the three ultimate goals (τέλος) of a believer's life, that is the glory of God, conformity with christ and eternal life. These three things are the highest good (summun bonum) that should be the goals of a believer's life, according to their salvation calling.
Abstrak: Doksologi merupakan bagian penting dalam surat rasuli, akan tetapi kurangnya perhatian terhadapnya menjadikan doksologi sebatas dipahami sebagai ungkapan pujian, pengakuan aktif dan keyakinan teologis penulis. Dengan memperhatikan struktur dasar dan elemen-elemen penjelasnya, artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas doksologi dalam bentangan surat 1 Petrus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif melalui pendekatan analisis isi (content analysis) untuk menemukan makna teks, baik bagi pembaca pertama maupun masa kini. Melalui pendekatan ini, didapati bahwa doksologi di dalam surat 1 Petrus bukan sekedar ungkapan pujian, pengakuan aktif, dan keyakinan teologis penulis, akan tetapi sebagai strategi argumentasi untuk mengungkapkan tiga tujuan akhir (τέλος) keberadaan hidup orang percaya yaitu kemuliaan Allah, keselarasan dengan Kristus dan kehidupan kekal. Ketiganya merupakan kebaikan tertinggi (summun bonum) alkitabiah yang seharusnya menjadi arah hidup orang percaya, sesuai dengan panggilan keselamatannya.
